About Us

MECON is a leading consultancy office working in the marine field since 1996, managed by Prof. Dr. Eng. Maged Abdel Naby; assistant professor at the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering department at Alexandria University, CEng, CMarEng, MIMarEST, and associate member of the Association of Average Adjusters.

The office was established by ch. Eng. Mohamed Abdel Naby; the ex Chairman of the Egyptian Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, ex. member of board in the River Transport Authority and Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety, ex technical manager for FAMCO maritime company, and an ex Navy Commodore.

Our office is recognized by the River Transport Authority, Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety, and Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority. The office represented Hellenic Register of shipping from 1996 to 2010.

During this period, our team has conducted all types of class and statutory surveys, and surveys on behalf of major insurance companies for sea going vessels and Nile Floating hotels in the River Nile.

Our activities also include technical consultancy for maritime and oil services companies, technical support for class entry or class change as well as the design of floating hotels, yachts and other small units.
